The Agile Manifesto is a response by developers to the so-called “heavyweight” process or development models, such as the Unified Process or the V-Model. Its four guiding principles form the foundation for agile practices in projects and thus serve as a kind of framework condition for lightweight software development. All agile process models adhere to the Agile Manifesto.
