After the invention of the telescope, astronomers were able to determine the locations of the Sun, the Moon, the planets, and the stars much more accurately. Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) found among other things four “planetis” orbiting Jupiter, and interpreted them as moons of Jupiter, thus as a small planetary system. With the available observational data, Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) was finally able to find laws with which he could predict the position of the planets.

摘要

After the invention of the telescope, astronomers were able to determine the locations of the Sun, the Moon, the planets, and the stars much more accurately. Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) found among other things four “planetis” orbiting Jupiter, and interpreted them as moons of Jupiter, thus as a small planetary system. With the available observational data, Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) was finally able to find laws with which he could predict the position of the planets.
