Infection of an Atrial Catheter
摘要
Infection is a common complication of non-tunneled catheters, and less frequently (but still regularly) occurs with tunneled catheters with a cuff. Local findings are often mild, but in cases of doubt and with a typical history (fever during dialysis!), it is better to explant a catheter one time too many and too early than to endanger the patient through a prolonged infection.
