Dysfunction of a port catheter is one of the most common consultation requests from the “chemo outpatient clinic,” where often a new puncture and needle replacement are sufficient. If all conservative measures prove unsuccessful, surgical revision becomes necessary; however, a chest X-ray should be performed beforehand to assess the catheter position.
