Conservative therapy using compression and anticoagulation forms the basis of treatment measures for thrombosis of the arm veins, as long as no direct trigger is identifiable. In the presence of foreign bodies (usually port catheters), explantation should be pursued as soon as this is feasible given the underlying condition.
