In the previous five chapters, the basic ideas and the theoretic cornerstone of the unified framework of control and detection as well as the needed mathematical tools have been elaborately and comprehensively presented and illustrated. In the subsequent parts, Part II and Part III, applications in the unified framework aiming at fault diagnosis, fault-tolerant control and secure cyber-physical systems will be explored. Before that, we would like, in this chapter, to discuss and highlight potential extensions of the unified framework and the associated perspectives for its applications to control and detection.
