Practical Music Practice in Times of Corona
摘要
The corona pandemic and the disease COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus have brought with it completely new challenges for both medical care structures and the music world worldwide, for which there was no previous experience and which therefore had to be developed from scratch. In particular, the main transmission route of SARS-CoV-2 via aerosols made it necessary to develop separate risk assessments and hygiene concepts for the music sector, which on the one hand help to significantly reduce the risk of infection when singing and making music, but on the other hand, continue to enable the practical practice of music while knowing and minimizing the risk of infection. In addition to the purely infectiological and preventive parameters, such as vaccination, testing and observing distances, and optimizing indoor air, it was also important to keep an eye on the long-term psychosocial consequences of the pandemic for all areas of the professional and amateur music sector, taking into account the different age groups. Since singing and making music are extremely positive and important for mental health in society as a whole, a fear-free musical practice must be reestablished as the risk of corona decreases during the endemic phase.
