Auf den Spuren von Otfried Preußler und seinem Werk Mein Rübezahlbuch
摘要
This article deals with the interpretation of the Rübezahl figure in Otfried Preußler’s Mein Rübezahlbuch. Zwei Dutzend der Geschichten und drei Geschichten vom Herrn des Riesengebirges (My Book of Rübezahl. Two Dozen Stories and Three Stories from the Lord of the Giant Mountains). The article focuses on how Preußler approached the portrayal of this character. This portrayal is thematised in those stories influenced by oral tradition and German literature, as well as in other stories with autobiographical motifs. The question of literary topography is also examined, and the article compares the German original and the Czech translation, in which the question of the German and Czech conception of the Rübezahl figure is discussed. Thus, the article focusses on Rübezahl as a cross-cultural figure who can also be interpreted as a companion of Preußler, the German author with German-Czech family roots.
