Robotic-assisted access to the retrorectus space offers diverse and flexible solutions for the treatment of incisional hernias. This is important not least because the occurrence of an incisional hernia does not adhere to standards, but each hernia can have unique characteristics. In this chapter, the various access options to the retrorectus space are presented in clear surgical photos and illustrations. It should be seen as a supplement to the previous r-TARUP chapter, in which the lateral approach is discussed. In addition to the cranial and caudal approach to the retrorectus space, the current chapter also describes the option of pure tissue repair and the potential hazards of working in the retrorectus space.
