With the introduction of robotic-assisted surgery, the lively debate about the relative advantages and disadvantages of endoscopic minimally invasive total extraperitoneal (TEP) and transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) inguinal hernia repair became obsolete. The robotic-assisted total extraperitoneal inguinal hernia repair (r-TEP) offers the advantages of both the extraperitoneal approach and the robot-assisted platform. We describe a robotic-adapted approach that is effective and can be easily adopted by surgeons.
