Biocompatibility and Cellular Mechanisms of Mesh Incorporation
摘要
In this chapter, meshes are examined in relation to biocompatibility criteria. The foundation of biocompatibility is the foreign body reaction, which is detailed across its phases and its impact on tissue-mesh interaction. The clinical ramifications of the foreign body reaction, including its effects on tissue-mesh interaction and strategies for modulating this interaction, are discussed. The chapter provides an overview of mesh material specifications that influence tissue-mesh interaction, and it explores methods for adjusting tissue-mesh interaction through specific mesh properties.
