The function of the propeller shaftPropeller shaft is to transmit torque between the transmission, the transfer case and the driving axles. The propeller shaft makes it possible to connect two axes of rotation which are not exactly in the same plane. Since the transmission and the axles move relative to each other as part of the suspension process, the propeller shaft must be able to balance out this relative movement.
