This third chapter develops a normative criteriology for the moral evaluation of algorithms. The author proceeds in four steps. Firstly, the current discourse on algorithms is outlined using concrete examples from various fields. Secondly, the author analyses how moral values are consciously or unconsciously incorporated into algorithms. Building on this, the associated problems and dangers are systematised. Finally, the author proposes a criteriology for an ethics of algorithms. The added value of these normative dimensions is then reflected in a summary.

摘要

This third chapter develops a normative criteriology for the moral evaluation of algorithms. The author proceeds in four steps. Firstly, the current discourse on algorithms is outlined using concrete examples from various fields. Secondly, the author analyses how moral values are consciously or unconsciously incorporated into algorithms. Building on this, the associated problems and dangers are systematised. Finally, the author proposes a criteriology for an ethics of algorithms. The added value of these normative dimensions is then reflected in a summary.
