Africa is on the frontline of the global climate change and it is widely postulated that Africa will be disproportionately affected by climate change, with impacts expected to be more severe than in other regions of the world, but, to this day, little research has been done on the influence of the climate drivers of the continent by climate change and their teleconnections. And there are only few studies on the direct human influence, for example, whether the current dry period in the wet-dry tropics and dry subtropics of the continent is the result of climate change or caused by anthropogenic land degradation, possibly but also “only amplified”. However, it is becoming increasingly clear today that the probability of occurence and the magnitude of droughts, floods, and other extreme weather events will not only increase, but these events will also last longer each time. A catastrophic perspective, the dimensions of which become particularly visible in the case of potential droughts: Of the 54 states of the continent, 31 are directly affected.

摘要
