In this chapter we consider sensors. These are special devices which interact directly with the environment and are ultimately the source of all the input data in a multi-sensor data fusion system. We describe the concept of a smart sensor and how it communicates with the outside world. This includes a brief discussion on different interface file systems and universal timing schemes. The problem of faulty sensors and errors in the sensor measurements are presented using a Bayesian sensor model.

摘要

In this chapter we consider sensors. These are special devices which interact directly with the environment and are ultimately the source of all the input data in a multi-sensor data fusion system. We describe the concept of a smart sensor and how it communicates with the outside world. This includes a brief discussion on different interface file systems and universal timing schemes. The problem of faulty sensors and errors in the sensor measurements are presented using a Bayesian sensor model.
