Autonomous driving has seen a lot of interest in recent years and is a key technology to enable cost-effective Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) vehicles. One such vehicle is the MONOCAB, a self-stabilizing monorail vehicle developed by the MONOCAB OWL project. For the project we were tasked to develop a system which is capable of detecting other MONOCAB vehicles on the track. The system consists of a camera and a radar sensor, which are processed on an embedded system inside the vehicle in real-time. This enables automated driving and platooning of multiple vehicles.

摘要

Autonomous driving has seen a lot of interest in recent years and is a key technology to enable cost-effective Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) vehicles. One such vehicle is the MONOCAB, a self-stabilizing monorail vehicle developed by the MONOCAB OWL project. For the project we were tasked to develop a system which is capable of detecting other MONOCAB vehicles on the track. The system consists of a camera and a radar sensor, which are processed on an embedded system inside the vehicle in real-time. This enables automated driving and platooning of multiple vehicles.
