Theory of elasticity forms the basis of many engineering disciplines, including composites science and technology, especially from the perspective of engineers who plan, analyze and design lightweight structures. This chapter provides the basics for analyzing the stresses and deformations of elastic structures, which are also the basics for analyzing composite laminated structures.
