Businessman in the Hotel
摘要
At noon on a busy day, a helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) was alerted with the mission keyword “unresponsive person” to a nearby hotel. On the way from the landing site to the hotel, an employee told us that it was about a gentleman who was staying there for business, had checked into the hotel the previous evening without any visible impairment, and wanted to spend a day there for business meetings. Since he had not brought his breakfast, which was standing outside the door, into his room and did not respond to any calls, but movement could be heard in the room, the employee opened the door around noon, found the guest in his bed, and alerted the emergency medical services. Upon arrival, our team encountered a 50-year-old engineer who was responsive but disoriented to all qualities and, according to the first impression, critically ill in his hotel bed.
