Landscape, weather, and climate are factors that significantly influence human behavior, well-being, and performance. This chapter first defines the term landscape, then discusses the Biophilia hypothesis, describes landscape preference models, and presents research findings that demonstrate the impact of landscape and nature on humans. The second section of the chapter deals with weather and climate, as well as bioclimatological effect complexes and weather-related mood disorders (weather sensitivity); in addition, the effect of light on humans is discussed, as well as seasonally induced influences, such as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a bipolar affective disorder triggered by light conditions. The potential effects of heat on mood and behavior, the so-called Heat-Aggression-Hypothesis, are finally discussed.
