Environmental Strains, Stress and Health
摘要
This chapter discusses the influence of environmental stressors such as noise, as well as other environmental factors that burden human health and well-being. First, terms, concepts, and models related to stress and health are presented. Then, environmental factors that act as psychological stressors or directly affect human health and well-being are addressed. Specifically, the effects of the acoustic environment on humans, the effects of odors, and the impacts of environmental toxins and electromagnetic radiation and fields on humans are discussed. Environmental syndromes such as Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Sick Building Syndrome, and Electrosensitivity and -sensibility are also addressed.
