Nowadays, more people of all ages and genders are playing soccer in clubs throughout Germany than ever before (DFB, 2022). As a major element of German culture, many children get involved in club soccer as early as six or seven or after starting school, since a lot of the youth have a desire to join a soccer club to train and play. Reasons for this include the media representation of soccer, meet and spend time with friends, engage in activities outside of school, and for the general fun of scoring goals and playing the game.
