The rehabilitation processes in prison systems and in forensic psychiatric facilities differ greatly from each other, as do the scope and level of psychoeducational programs. Research focusing on determining the level of emotional intelligence of convicted criminals is still rare today. In the few cases that exist, they decipher criminal behavioral characteristics and emotional intelligence characteristics based on a rather small number of prison inmates, with the socioeconomic status, gender, background, medical history, ethnic affiliation, and education level of these convicts often not being mentioned.
