Regardless of the origin, conception, and significance of emotional intelligence, whose roots have deepened over millennia, the science of emotional intelligence (= EI) and the existing EI models are still considered a new scientific branch. Moreover, they show enormous potential to offer new insights and create collaborative opportunities in countless scientific areas. Regarding emotional intelligence and the current rehabilitation processes of offenders, it can be concluded that there is a further need for studies of various subgroups, such as female/male and violent/non-violent subgroups.
