Snail shine
摘要
When I’m strolling through the garden, I peer to the left and to the right, up and down and all around, without really knowing what I’m looking for. My eyes have grown accustomed to discovering things that usually go unnoticed. At times, it’s some discolouration on a leaf, a peculiar shadow or, as in this case, an intriguing play of colours with an unusual, glossy sheen. A snail had crawled over a masterwort’s faded flowerhead, leaving its slimy trail. Come morning, light is refracting in it like in a soap bubble.
