In chemical removal, the material is removed by a direct chemical reaction between the material to be removed and an active medium. A basic distinction is made between etch removal, thermal-chemical removal (deburring) and chemical-thermal removal. In addition to the basic removal principles of these technologies, thermal-chemical deburring is explained in more detail in this chapter using application case studies.
