Episodic Memory
摘要
What does it mean to lose the memory of situations, the person experienced fully aware? This chapter is limited to a specific memory system—that of episodic memory. The disturbance of episodic memory is an important part of psychopathology, as distortions in the process of encoding and retrieval from the episodic memory are significant for a patient’s self-image. What does neuroscience know about this memory system? How can it be explained that it is possible to store and retrieve an experience in the brain?
