The overview image of the iris at medium magnification is one of the simple and gratifying settings on the slit lamp. It is worth additionally shining the intense slit light, which only fills the pupil, directly into the eye, so that fundus red in the iris tissue also makes small defects visible, as in laser iridotomies and pigment dispersion syndrome, as a church window phenomenon. Posterior synechiae are usually best represented with retroillumination from the fundus. The exact nature of the chamber angle can only be determined by gonioscopy. Here we usually capture individual typical sections at higher magnification in the image. Occasionally we also create panoramas from eight individual images, although the approach we have chosen does not provide a completely seamless documentation.
