Thanks to rapid progress in the field of additive manufacturing, components can be produced quickly and cost-effectively from functionally graded materials (FGM). Compared to conventional materials, FGMs offer greater resistance to mechanical, thermal, or chemical stresses thanks to targeted material grading. This chapter is dedicated to plane normal and tangential contacts of media with an elastic grading in the form of a power-law. For the exponent zero of the power-law, the known solutions of homogeneous materials result from earlier chapters of this book.
