A Brief History of the Exploration of the Stars

The stars in the sky have always been regarded by man as an example of immortality and unattainability. There are certainly understandable reasons why the earliest surviving reflections of mankind are associated with gods, who are often located in the sky and are often represented by celestial bodies such as the sun, moon and wandering stars. Many of the first religions (and the religions of many primitive peoples that still exist today) were what theologians like to call “astral religionsAstral religions”: Religions that saw the starry heavens as filled with gods whose work directly influences or guides human destiny.
