This chapter deals with the axioms of dynamics, i.e. Newton’s three axioms, which can be divided into the law of inertia, the fundamental law of dynamics and the interaction principle. The fundamental law of dynamics is formulated for three different types of coordinate systems, namely Cartesian coordinates, cylindrical coordinates and natural coordinates. Another paragraph deals with the classification of forces into different categories before discussing various applications of Newton’s axioms. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the impulse law and angular momentum theorem for the mass point.

摘要

This chapter deals with the axioms of dynamics, i.e. Newton’s three axioms, which can be divided into the law of inertia, the fundamental law of dynamics and the interaction principle. The fundamental law of dynamics is formulated for three different types of coordinate systems, namely Cartesian coordinates, cylindrical coordinates and natural coordinates. Another paragraph deals with the classification of forces into different categories before discussing various applications of Newton’s axioms. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the impulse law and angular momentum theorem for the mass point.
