The main tasks of chemical reaction engineering consist in the selection and design of chemical reactors as well as in the model-based description of an economically optimal technical process management while complying with the boundary conditions of safety, environmental protection, energy, and raw material savings. For the solution of reaction engineering tasks and requirements, it has methods and techniques of mathematical modeling and simulation as well as statistical experimental design and optimization at its disposal.
