摘要

In process engineering, automation structures are represented with piping and instrumentation diagrams. After the presentation of various control structures, their application to the common, continuously operated, chemical reactor types is shown and explained. The simple switching functions can be represented in the P&I diagram but not sequential controls. The sequence control is exemplarily presented for waste water neutralization in batch operation.
