Three different examples of major process improvements illustrate the wide range of supply chain projects. The first example highlights the change process in complex ERP implementations; the second shows system optimisation, and the third shows how the supply chain can be optimised to achieve specific goals. The aim is to show how changes can increase a company’s competitiveness. The chapter is intended to provide suggestions for tasks and encourage the reader to think about which area is relevant for their own supply chain project, given the very different focuses. While the previous chapters have dealt with the basics and procedures, this chapter provides examples from consulting practice. Most procedures can be illustrated using project examples.
