A structural equation model is a representation of a series of hypothesized relationships between observed variables and latent variables into a composite hypothesis concerning patterns of statistical dependencies. The hypothesized relationships are described by parameters that indicate the magnitude of the relationship (direct or indirect) that independent ( exogenous) variables (either observed or latent) have on dependent ( endogenous) variables (either observed or latent).
