Agreement in repeated assessments is a fundamental requirement for quality of data from assessments on rating scales. Scale assessments produce ordinal data, the ordered categories representing only a rank order of the intensity of a particular variable and not a numerical value in a mathematical sense, even when the assessments are numerically labelled.
