Conclusion: Lessons Learnt and Future Paths for International Cooperation
摘要
Germany and China face similar demographic challenges in similar intensities; both countries have some of the lowest fertility rates worldwide. These demographic challenges affect all realms of life, challenges that have been addressed by the governments of both countries for many years, or even decades, using different approaches. During the COVID-19 pandemic, however, it became even more obvious that international efforts undertaken in recent decades to address the ageing challenge do not suffice. The present book uses the momentum generated by the pandemic to reinforce discussion and foster collaboration in the field of sustainable ageing. It aims to provide a knowledge source for practitioners and policy makers, as well as academic communities. Further, it demonstrates that international exchange on policies, good practice and solutions is an essential and valuable undertaking, and one worth striving for as we prepare societies for the future.
