The Plaintiff shipping line carried fifteen containers containing granite products from Wuhan to Bandar Abbas in Iran. The Defendant, the shipper, asked the Plaintiff to change the name of the consignee, giving the Plaintiff a telex release Letter of Guarantee. The Plaintiff declined to change the name of the consignee, having given a delivery order to the original consignee. No one took delivery of the goods in Bandar Abbas, and the Plaintiff sued the Defendant, demanding return of the containers or their equivalent value, and also container demurrage.
