The spine consists of 33-34 vertebral bodies. This chapter describes, in addition to numerical norm variants, the measurement of the spine as well as medical foreign bodies that are to be identified in imaging: cement augmentation (vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty), osteosynthesis implants (spondylodesis), scoliosis therapy, disc prostheses, vertebral body replacement, and cages. Finally, extensive space is given to imaging in the event of complications arising from the use of these foreign bodies.

摘要

The spine consists of 33-34 vertebral bodies. This chapter describes, in addition to numerical norm variants, the measurement of the spine as well as medical foreign bodies that are to be identified in imaging: cement augmentation (vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty), osteosynthesis implants (spondylodesis), scoliosis therapy, disc prostheses, vertebral body replacement, and cages. Finally, extensive space is given to imaging in the event of complications arising from the use of these foreign bodies.
