This chapter will summarize the current state of the art on unsteady vehicle drag. First, the observation of incident flow situation in real-world road and test track driving will be discussed. The next sections will explain how on-road unsteady flow can and has been recreated in simulation environments, both in the wind tunnel and in CFD.
