The section presents qualitative results from 10 in-depth interviews relating to respondents’ experiences in the rehabilitation institution, respondents’ family background and respondents’ experiences with various forms of strain. It also presents key informants’ views regarding these themes. The interviews aimed to understand what behaviours led to the juvenile’s admission for rehabilitation at Botswana Institute for Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Offenders (BIRRO) and what are they experiencing in the Centre.
