Analysis of the Role and Importance of Virtual Concerts for Management Students During the COVID-19 Pandemic
摘要
The chapter analyses the function and importance of art and culture for management students in coping with the pandemic and its consequences. Specifically, we focus our attention on the impact of virtual concerts on business students. We are interested in determining whether social connection is established at virtual concerts. We surveyed 84 management students at the University of Ljubljana. The research question was: What is the role of virtual concerts in a time of restricted contact, bans on performances, and the closure of cultural institutions, universities, and schools for the management of students’ well-being? Our findings show that the majority of the business students in our sample do not gain emotional support or artistic value from virtual concerts; however, students do perceive their value in providing for the economic existence and maintaining the normality of musicians’ lives.
