The article analyzes selected German neologisms related to the corona pandemic. At the end of 2021, more than 2000 corona-related neologisms were registered; in the entire Duden, there were about 3000 new words. This alone proves the dominance of pandemic-related language changes. This is the largest increase in factual new words in a long time. As language, writing and symbolism change, so does the culture of interaction and behavior as a whole. The vaccination debate and society splitting into the vaccinated and unvaccinated, as well as inconsistent rules on uniform pandemic management, underscore the dilemma in which everyone is called upon to develop more immunity to word creation.
