The main objective of this work is to leverage the current on-board diagnostic process of the vehicle by introducing an advanced approach that elevates the current capabilities to a great extent. Although the current self-reporting of the diagnostic system is limited to simple and abstract fault codes, the keycomponents in the electrified and advanced powertrain require an advanced and reliable condition monitoring system. This system is required to facilitate continuous and direct fault detection and identification during vehicle operation.
