This chapter introduces the books central concern with inequalities of voice in transnational public discourse, using global climate change debates on Twitter as its empirical focus. It outlines the normative and empirical problem of unequal participation in global political communication under conditions of global inequality. It concludes by situating the study within existing research and outlining its contributions.
