Often, Salafi actors are associated with the issue of violent radicalization and the scene is thus a security problem. This is due to the fact that most of the existing literature has been funded in some way by foreign security organizations, most of which are based in the us and Western European countries. Nevertheless, a fwe publications offer a hint of an “other story”. These motivated me to take an ethnographic approach that tried to overcome the securitizing perspective on this topic.
