This research focused on the role of neo-Salafi groups and actors within contemporary Bosnian society in a post-war, post-socialist and post-9/11 era. The question has been asked, whether pious Muslim community organisations and actors cover social and welfare functions that should be covered by state actors themselves. It also asked whether the activities of the organisations were leading to the fulfilment of governance by these actors, and how this was affecting the perception and acceptance of the organisations in society.

摘要

This research focused on the role of neo-Salafi groups and actors within contemporary Bosnian society in a post-war, post-socialist and post-9/11 era. The question has been asked, whether pious Muslim community organisations and actors cover social and welfare functions that should be covered by state actors themselves. It also asked whether the activities of the organisations were leading to the fulfilment of governance by these actors, and how this was affecting the perception and acceptance of the organisations in society.
