Intervention Strategies for Children and Adolescents from Islamist or Salafist-Influenced Families
摘要
The upbringing of children and adolescents in families influenced by Islamist or Salafist ideologies requires careful and nuanced consideration. The approach to engaging with such families varies depending on whether the family system is closed or semi-closed, as this can influence the risk and protective factors in the development of the children and adolescents. It is crucial to recognize that an upbringing characterized by Islamist or Salafist beliefs does not inherently endanger a child’s welfare. Each case must be individually assessed in accordance with legal requirements. Promoting resilience is a particularly effective low-threshold strategy to support the strength and well-being of children and adolescents. Additionally, other methods such as systemic counseling can be employed to provide further support.
