Loyalty, as a stabilizing resource, is gaining significantly in importance against the backdrop of societal transformation processes and the observed decline of binding relationship structures in various areas of life. Nevertheless, research to date has focused primarily on a few selected contexts, such as family and the workplace. Based on the premise that loyalty must always be considered context-specific, this contribution, after synthesizing existing relevant studies, provides a dynamic-transactional framework grounded in Schweer’s differential (il-)loyalty theory, which conceptually understands loyalty and disloyalty as independent psychological dimensions.

摘要

Loyalty, as a stabilizing resource, is gaining significantly in importance against the backdrop of societal transformation processes and the observed decline of binding relationship structures in various areas of life. Nevertheless, research to date has focused primarily on a few selected contexts, such as family and the workplace. Based on the premise that loyalty must always be considered context-specific, this contribution, after synthesizing existing relevant studies, provides a dynamic-transactional framework grounded in Schweer’s differential (il-)loyalty theory, which conceptually understands loyalty and disloyalty as independent psychological dimensions.
