This article starts from the phenomena of social inequality related to gender in sports and describes the diverse mechanisms by which gender is constructed. Adopting a comprehensive perspective that takes into account a wide range of gender realities, a model of gender diversity competence is developed, systematically opening up action-oriented perspectives for gender-inclusive sports pedagogy. This includes 1. knowledge of social construction mechanisms, 2. the motivation to question manifestations of difference, and 3. inclusive-oriented didactic skills.
