This thesis is divided into seven parts, which are also displayed graphically in Fig. 6.1. As the seven big arrows in the graph show, the different parts of this thesis follow a logical sequence and build on each other. The boxes below the five main arrows (Parts II to VI) briefly summarize the research questions and the respective purpose of each part. The first part of the thesis (Part I) is this introduction. The aim of Part I was to introduce the project and its relevance, to briefly outline some key contributions to research, and to formulate the research questions. It has set the stage and built the point of departure for the whole project.
